Nikon D2X Digital Slr Camera: My Favorite Camera

Published by Digital Camera Guru on Tagged Nikon

The Nikon D2X Digital SLR camera is an elegant and smart camera. It’s one I can take the world over, to document those exceptional moments in my life. Friends, family, places I’ve been and events I’ve shared are all memorialized by my camera’s lens.

I still remember getting my first camera. It was a present from my parents for Christmas when I was 10. I was so excited to boast my own camera! Now I would be able to take my recollections with me anywhere my dad’s career brought us.

My father is one of 6 siblings; his father is one of 13 and his mother had 9 brothers and sisters. My dad’s first cousins alone numbered almost 100. And I have pictures — of all those relatives, of christenings, birthdays, graduations, weddings and huge family reunions. And all those photographs of all those relations have accompanied me throughout my life.

When I was younger we moved around the country and even overseas for a time, and I grew to be an ardent photographer. There are scrapbooks filled with snapshots of my parents, my brother and me, standing beside well-known and unheard of landmarks throughout the country. When we moved overseas, I discovered even more excuses to whip out the camera — so many new activities and exotic locales.

After taking pictures became a digital process, suddenly my camera wasn’t just for printed pictures any more. To begin with, no more did I have to place snapshots in an envelope if I wanted to share them. A few clicks and I could send my pictures to whoever I wished to. And can you say “Photoshop”? How cool to be able to manage red eye, adjust contrast and so much more, right from my desk!

Life has changed; I’m not the same teenager, travelling with my mom and dad, now I’m the parent. My pictures are still concerning documenting our memories, though. The photos are still of family vacations and growing kids, but now I’m the grown up. And don’t forget all the family celebrations that make our lives so rich.

As far as family goes, our description is not the same as what I grew up with; my kids haven’t grown up with many blood relations but we somehow find friends that grow to be family. My camera helps me to hold on to these memories for not only myself, but my family, and all the people that share in my pictures.

A buddy of mine who wants to get serious about picture-taking recently asked what i thought. It’s challenging to select a preferred camera after all this time taking pictures, but I would have to say it’s my Nikon. When I reflect on the photographs it records — my life summed up in pictures — that’s a great deal to live up to.
