With the stylish shape and silver metallic case, Canon A620 is striking setup from the line of Canon’s A95. When this Canon A620 camera was introduced, it was sold out at just 400. However, the improvements of Canon A620 are quite more than the skin deep, starting with the 7.1 megapixel CCD was a noteworthy jump from 5 megapixel of A95. Both of these cameras could be distinguished by the fold out LCD type panels but A620 is of 2 inches verses 1.8 inches of A95. Though many of them don’t sound like any difference, it could be noticeable on looking at the screen. For almost anyone who likes photography, fold out screen is quite worth the cost that adds up to camera. By simply rotating it, you can easily get better pictures in the crowds. All you need to do is holding the camera and looking at LCD. For the shy subjects, you might rotate LCD up and then hold camera at the waist level, when no one would even think that you are actually clicking pictures. In case you wish to click your picture too then you will require facing the LCD and make sure that you aren’t left out accidentally from photo.

Calling Canon A620 as a compact camera would certainly be kindness. Though midrange of A510 and range A520 has seen reduction in the size, higher end of A series seems getting larger with every new generation. However, Canon A620 camera is a little bulky if compared to the past few models. Large right handed grip further adds to size of the digital camera. It accommodates four of AA batteries that obviously offer with a longer battery life. However, this feature makes the Canon A620 camera big enough to fit it into anything like a small carry bag or pocket. But it is certainly going to provide your hand with solid purchase on camera and would push shutter release also the zoom control quite well in front, where the trigger finger can rest comfortably.

With each new generation of the digital cameras would bring along few of ergonomic changes of which some are for good and some aren’t. Canon A620 camera model is one of the biggest examples of the improvement. It is more of textured and is higher than dial on A95, which further gives the thumb with better purchase while changing of the modes. Canon has also spread menu, display, exposure compensation and the transfer buttons a little apart for it to make it is easy to control while in a hurry.

One good feature of the Canon digital cameras is Function button that is now located in center of four way thumb button. By pressing Function button, a well organized menu would pop up on the LCD screen. It would further allow you to adapt changing of the scenes and the lighting conditions intuitively and quickly. On other hand, Canon is stuck with sliding playback / record switch. It is a little more cumbersome for getting back also reviewing the pictures quickly with quick review button which could be found on most of the cameras.

Zoom rage of the Canon A620 camera jumps from A95 3 x to 4 x. Focal length of Canon A620 starts from 35mm film which is equivalent of the 35 mm basic length. It includes 7.1 megapixel CCD delivering image type resolution and 2 inch LCD monitor. It features manual and auto focus modes also auto focus assisting light. It can also accept telephoto and wide angled accessory lens. It features custom setting modes for the purpose of saving the mostly used settings. It also features color swap mode and my color mode for adjusting the colors. It also includes stitch assist mode for the panoramic type of shots. Canon A620 also features audio notes with the still images. It features 11 special scenic modes. The camera includes in-built flash and SD card storage.
